This entry is written 4 days later in retrospect when I had gone back to Taipei. The details are a little fuzzy, though I did try to write the blog the old fashioned way, except most of my writing I can't decipher. Anyways, here goes:

... shelter we noticed that immediately with the flick of a switch the hundreds of scooter drivers were sporting the latest version of Hefty garbage poncho, well not exactly but it was amazing. I think some of them slipped them on while running a red light and honking at the perpendicular traveling traffic. Originally, I was going to do this alone. Joe wanted nothing to do with it. Swimming isn't something he does for fun. It is more of a survival technique. After some persuasion I was able to talk him into it. We are members at the American Club, they coordinated a group trip.

After traveling from Boston/DC to NYC and a 17 hour plane ride from JFK to Taipei, we are now at Taipei International Airport where we have a three hour layover before hopping on our last flight to Bangkok (which is another 5 hours of flying).
