... man over the age of 25 that I saw in my stay here was dressed in a business suit & carrying a briefcase & the women were almost without exception either smartly & sharply dressed or had taken such care, imagination & attention with their attire that it would take a minute or two to take it all in. I got a sense though that these were a people who worked phenomenally hard as I lost count of the number of exhausted, vacant stares & heads ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan wanderinglight... see them yet. Over the next couple of days we will send them out, so you will have a ton of stuff to see and read. I will finish tokyo tonight (in about 8 hours). There will be two tokyo entries to read. The first and the second time we stayed in Tokyo so please read both. Stay tuned!!! Update 04/23/09 Ok. So I left off at the I am forskin bar. Birnie and I headed out from there to Shinjuku, and stumbled upon a huge area heavily concentrated with hostess bars ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan chrisquared... a look of discust. its pretty wierd anyway! disney was amazing today but im exhausted now. we got there pretty early since the hotel was 2 mins away and managed to get a fast track ticket for space mountain - which meant we just went back 3 hours later and walked straight though. If we hadnt have got that we would have had to stand in a queue for 160 minutes !!! the place was much bigger than i thought it would be. oh and people stood in queues of about 40 people ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan christinauk... they have that combination plus the knobs are on the bottom of the oven door (I want to hang the oven on a shelf off the floor). The oven is around $700.00. I'm going to check to see if a Japanese oven will work on US electricity. We walked a bit (Auntie Kazu can walk fast) and we found ourselves in the Ginza District. There we checked out a couple of the department stores ...
Tokyo, Japan amelia98275... paper. When he came out I said, "you just couldn't resist the toilet, could you?" We laughed all the way to the apartment as he told me the story! Today we are off to Tokyo Disney Seas. It should be a fun day. Hitoshi will join us and I am very much looking forward to it!! December 19, 2007 Well, it's been a busy couple of days since Jeff got here. Right now he is cooking dinner - his cooking is something I have missed for the past few weeks. So, it gives me a chance to ...
Tokyo, Japan mark820... children, since they have many interactive exhibits, including learning how to play an old game that involves winding a string around a metal top and spinning it on the string so it lands on a small drum covered in cloth. When two people do this at the same time, the tops fight for dominance, but the hardest part is learning to spin and release the top. The museum has a re-creation of an old village with a tobacco store, fish ...
Tokyo, Japan downundertravel... The bus ride from Narita to our hotel was long and dark. I was very tired and had a headache, but even though I could hardly see out the window, I still got the feeling that we were driving on the "wrong" side of the road.
We slept over in Tokyo at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, whose beds were a bit hard for my poor American back, but I have trouble with all hotel beds anyway. :)
... up into little mini cities on the metro (never late or delayed). each place offering either good bars clubs, shops or futuristic buildings. The whole place is clean and well presented which makes you think about not throwing your gum on the floor. Its expensive in tokyo but maybe slightly cheaper than going out in london and alot nicer. Theres never any trouble and the japanese girls seem to love young white ...
Tokyo, Japan joshwallin... We rode bikes to the station, parked them there and then took the train to Tokyo. I was pretty impressed with myself...with the riding a bike in heels and all. Made it there just fine, with no casualties! We chose the Ginza district as our destination. We got off the train at the main Tokyo station and then began walking towards the Ginza district. Well, I wish someone would've warned us that the two were not very close together! We sure did a lot of walking! We were joined by ...
Tokyo, Japan athena... mine in for 2 cycles, and Dad put his in for 2 as well, but stopped the load half way to take out some of the items. Neither of our clothes were dried after 2 cycles, and we had to deal with soggy clothes during our re-pack, and had to hang them up in the hotel room in Tokyo when we got there. The trip to Tokyo was uneventful, other than the fact that the train ride from Kyoto to Tokyo is a popular one. The train was stuffed and we weren't lucky enough to get a window seat, so we ...
