    ... a full range of fresh vegetable and fruit produce and meats – both live and butchered.

    Again, in the way of Asia, housewives buy meals each day and fresh cuts of meat, fish and poultry are laid out on tables in the open air for sale. Our Western standards of refrigeration do not apply and the local folks seem none the worse for this "appalling" lack of WHS and food standards !!

    ... amusement. And yes, there is another toilet story to add to the repoitoire. This time, I had nothing to brace myself against, and stumbled slightly backwards. The flush button was just behind me, and so I managed to stand up at the same time as pushing the button with my buttocks. So clever! It has been a wonderful holiday.     ... houses for their outstanding selection of Chinese teas. One thing that became obvious quickly inside the real China is that English speaking people, outside major hotels, is hard to find so it is often a very amusing interaction as you negotiate prices in the side streets.
    Overall we were extremely impressed at how advanced, clean and developed Xiamen is relative to both our expectations.
    Back to the South China Sea for a full day at sea on to Shanghai! ...

    ... here was quite pretty, lots of light on all the buildings and along the harbour, many ships here as Xiamen is a major shipping port between Taiwan an Xiamem.
    A lot of the Aussies did the same shore excursion as ours so we all experienced abit of cultural and the beaches and the shops.
