trees, clacking their huge beaks like they were faintly annoyed at something.
We cycled along the lake side and stopped for lunch at Meersburg where the ferries go across to Konstanz. The town of Meersburg is very pretty and dominated by a large schloss. We continued along the lakeside for a while longer to Hagnau and then headed north through

    Saying Goodbye to New Friends

It was with much sadness that we had to leave Faschina today. Packing, breakfast, and paying bills was just depressing. A sunny morning, we would have rather been staying and going for another lovely walk. After looking at the museum there was time for a coffee fix for those who needed it, then it was back in the van to drive to the start of today's walk. Today it was a river walk. We followed the river for some time, taking in an interesting sulphur spring along the way. Here there was a tub which ...

Beautiful One Day, Spectacular the Next

... idyllic. Lunch over and we resumed our hike, luckily in a downhill direction. The last part was quite a steep descent along a narrow track that eventually lead to the main road, and more importantly our destination for the totally unnecessary cake and coffee, which we nonetheless enjoyed while Patrick and Anya caught the bus to where we had left the cars. It was probably the best cake we had had to date - apricot cake served with cream and ice cream. ...
