Its 8:15--and after a good nights sleep and recovery from our hike up to the Potala we have gotten off to an adventurous start.

At breakfast Jill sat in "Yak" Literally!!! Thankfully it wasn't me or there would have been yak everywhere!

We are trying to settle our misc expenses, quite the adventure there as well. Credit Cards …

We woke up early and started with self guided jaunt--we walked the Barkhor Circut. We saw a very long line of pilgrims making their way to the temple. Along the circut we saw a giant Prayer Wheel, Yax butter, copper pots, and some lady trying to sell us something she bottled in used plastic bottles. And no, we didn't buy it...

... sign outside first, but trying to find the steps to the 3rd floor cafe proved to be an adventure in itself. Finally, after multiple failures, including one to a massage shop, we found an elevator at the rear of another shop. ... Monastory - we drive to the out skirts of Lhasa & approach a Monastory built into the base of a mountain. It consists of a collection of residential, temples & a large assembly hall. It is not as crowded as Sera Monastry & we have a good walk around the various buildings - this is the 3rd Monastry / palace in the last 2 days & although very interesting & impressive, they are all starting to blur into one - I think I have an overdose ...

... cultural revolution but has been lovingly restored. Once again we were not permitted to take pictures. Bummer.

One thing I noticed outside and want to share: Most of the parkland is open to the public and hundreds of families were picnicing on the lawn. Nice to see the park in use and not just behind a fence or off limits.

In 2001 Norbulinka was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.
