Pricey But Convenient

A surprisingly comfortable bed, the Yotel is extremely expensive for what you get, but good enough for a night's rest while in transit - the rooms are quite quiet and pitch black. Though pricey, it wasn't much worse than the alternative of staying in a cheaper hotel close to Heathrow once you factor in taxi costs - it simply wasn't worth the hassle for me to seek out any alternatives since I landed at Heathrow at 23:00 and checked out of the hotel the next morning at 8:30.

YOTEL Heathrow

I didn't actually stay at YOTEL this time, I had a layover but not long enough to need Yotel. However, i've stayed there many many times and thought I'd give this review! REALLY great option for the traveler particularly the person traveling alone. Tiny little cabins only meant for sleep, shower & toiletry, the basics - but fantastic. Highly recommended.

Decided that next time there's a long layover to re think travel plans. Just after 10am, 5am Canadian time (almost been up 24hrs) till have 6 hours before gate is posted, 7 hour before take off. Getting to T1 was easy enough, but having cleared security, not to keen on leaving and coming back in. To get to T1, had to dump out or drink water, so I …

BL #62: Sleep In a Capsule Hotel

Simply for the sake of saying that you had stayed in one, sleeping in a capsule hotel is something that most backpackers would love to do while traveling in Japan. Normally the domain of Japan's Salarymen, capsule hotels are typically used by the workers who have drank a little too much at the karaoke bar after a hard day of work, and missed the …

Today we had a rather "easy day" in Prague. We woke up late- 9 am and went to a nearby bagel place- Bohemian Bagels. We both had breakfast sandwiches on their bagels and they were so good! We then continued to Prague Castle where we visited four of the major sites- St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, Golden Lane with …

It's a long way to the Yotel....

Our first stop on the journey was a 9 hour layover at Heathrow. Our driver took the bumpiest route over the Atlantic I have ever experience so we were a hit drained by the time we arrived. Then it seems a further 1 hour walk through the terminal to the Yotel. With 8 of our fellow travellers following me because I seemed to know where I was going …

0n our way to Greece via London Heathrow!

.Once we landed at Heathrow, we took a quick bus to terminal 4 and a 5 hour stay at the Yotel to catch up on some sleep. The room was extremely small and looked like a ship's cabin. After some fish and chips at a little restaurant just around the corner, we had a long Skype chat with Eric and Lauren in Vietnam ( amazing!) and then caught a few …
