After travelling through the night we berthed at ShiBaoZhai (meaning Precious Stone Fortress) to visit the Red Pagoda. The walk from the boat went via numerous stalls (selling China bird whistles), and through the town (a relocation town built 1996) and across a wobbly suspension bridge to the pagoda. It is a 12 storey temple built, without nails, in the 18th century and 3 extra levels ...

From Badong dock we took a smaller boat for the 15 km up the Goddess Stream or Shennv Xi, Shennong Stream which flows from goddess Peak at Badong. Every one however, had as eat unlike Liverpool Street where there is a total of about ten seats for all. No one ...

... Wuhan. It is located in the southern half of the country but still a considerable distance inland. We are currently descending and the Yangtzee River is in view from our window. The terrain is mountainous and there is also a massive dam that we observed. It is quite polluted today. We have been so lucky with the air quality. This is the second time the air quality has been poor. Where ever you go in China, buildings, highways, subways and fast train lines are in ...

... where we had a meeting and a friendship agreement was signed by the three Boards. We were lucky enough to come in during the morning flag raisin, with Chinese anthem and all.

We then moved out to another high school. We were set in an auditorium- style classroom were students were permitted to ask questions, AND in English (it was somewhat required by their students). They asked very pertinent ...
