... we are finding it a little jarring but we are getting there, while grumbling a little I admit, but with lots of smiles and a few glares instead of just shoving back we seem to be getting the hang of surviving in China.

... and we were treated to a glass of April tea. The second stop, the picturesque West Lake, was said to have been created from a pearl dropped by a phoenix and a dragon. ... we were able to sit for the over an hour bus ride back. The streets were packed with people heading back into town and the ride was long! Once back into the city we were able to take the subway back to the hotel were we had dinner at the buffer restaurant on the 22nd floor of the hotel. It was $40 per person which is a huge amount for China but at that point it did not matter. Tomorrow we are leaving at 6:30 for Nanjing which should be interesting.

In addition to these activities our students performed their much rehearsed chinese song which was well received by the crowd. Later they all danced with the Hangzhou students and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

... rest of the afternoon. We took a boat to the north shore of the island, near ------------- temple on the way home. We decided the temple wasn't worth going in to as we'd all seen lots before and happily spent our money on an ice cream instead of an entrance ticket before starting the journey back to our hostel.
