We got some rest last night and continued on today. We're back to naps, hiding all the breakables, and trying to distract the little guy as would any parent of a two year old. It looks like he is having a lot of fun. We feel lucky that, at the moment, he seems to be adjusting well to his new family. We are so happy to finally be together.

Mel: Although NanNing was a city we were just passing through, we enjoyed some traditional cultural buildings and hidden laneways, amongst massive shopping malls. ... to smog for us and into the cold. .. The first journey was fine, only the usual, people staring and laughing at us, you get used to it fast. The next mission was to find a bus. The lonely planet book said one goes every hour so shouldn't be too difficult. Miriam spots signs that lead to the long distance bus terminal, but that turns out not to exist so into a taxi we jump. A local man translates where we want to go to the driver, very kind amd tells us to only pay the meter ...
... to Guangzhou began in 2008 and now, in 2015 is already done with bullet trains that cut travel time between the two cities from 13 hrs to 3 hrs! The trains run up to 208km/h! It was pretty amazing to take this train remembering that just few years ago, the same journey will take more than half of the day! I am not surprised that Chinese companies are building high-speed rail networks in Turkey and Venezuela.
