... ever the wind takes you. Best of luck to you, and 再见.
Well I still look forward to this upcoming semester. 25 new people are coming, and I hope to make some new friends again. I also am looking forward to Monday, because that is when I start my two week trek into Southeast Asia. Warmer weather, beaches, and cheaper booze, hell yeah!
maison. Il n’y a pas de hasard.

... be out of China for a while and to be cut off from work email completely! Regarding the Mexican flu, it's not big part of life here in China. At the airports you see a bit more people wearing masks but not many. On the street there are hardly any people wearing masks. I would wear one against the polluted air before I wore one against the flu! I'll see what happens when I fly back from the US at the end of June though, at the moment every one gets their temperature checked on arrival.
Shanghai, Shanghai, China ninaversteeg... 50p! I (EW) am having to learn how to love beer). Later on we were a little tipsy and decided to go to a clubs with these English guys we'd been talking to, however we went outside to get a taxi and it was POURING with rain. As we were only wearing converse shoes our feet were wet pretty quickly and the guys were fannying around and beginning to annoy us so we sacked them off and went back into the hostel for more cheap beer and chatted with other people we'd met. At one point we had ...
Ca ...
shanghai, China hellomister... kids were so cute! Too bad I only got one picture. After I left, I took the subway for a brief stop at the hotel, then I got back on the subway and went to the Shanghai Acrobat Show at Circus World. It was very cool! I was sitting next to two guys from South America so we chatted about the show. We were not allowed to take pictures or videos. The guy next to me was secretly videotaping the show but he got busted so he had to turn his ...
Shanghai, Shanghai, China squigglytea... like everything else I have seen, there is a small version and a gigantic version. There is no in-between. Pudong looked amazing and definitely warrants further exploration, but today was a good start. Taking the cruise was probably one of the best ideas I have had. Besides being a nice way to waste an hour and take in some cool buildings, while I was waiting to board, this American mom and ...
Shanghai, China spenfree... the man insisting that they were on special for 125, down from 200+ Yuan. It was clear that I was desperate, and my poker face is not good at all, so getting the price any lower was not an option. Still, I think $20 for a decent pair of shoes is quite acceptable. Miguel was disappointed in my abysmal haggling skills. Lunching at KFC, I decided to ditch my old pair of shoes, which were in the shoebox given to me at the shoebox. Within ...
Shanghai, China mario.travels... task of ordering food in restaurant. It still went off okay, though. Aaron went back later with the remainder of the group and ordered things in a more mature and functional manner, apparently but just calmly explaining that he wanted chicken. Some people just get visibly agitated at the wrong time. Greg bought oranges from a cart vendor on the train. Six yuan for six oranges. Not a bad deal at all.
Shanghai, China zaidngreg... the map. We had a beautifully presented and nutritious Christmas dinner on the Bund itself at KFC and made our way back to the hotel. We arranged to meet up with David and his teaching mates after they had finished their Christmas meal and turned up to find them all half cut. Randomly another one of Davids colleagues happened to be a guy called James who had been a mate of Franky's from Leeds and I had even loosely recall in some fuzzy memory, it is a small world. James ...
