Our hotel in Hong Kong was ideally situated - right on Austin Rd, a few minutes walk from 2 metro stations, and a good walk to the Avenue of Stars walkway. It was also close to the night markets and bordered Kowloon Park - apart from the fact that it is also the Scouts headquarters I would happily stay there again. Nothing against the Scouts, but there weren't enough elevators to accommodate all the guests as well as the Scouts traipsing in.

... lunch. On the way I was surprised how busy it was. There were thousands of people wandering through the streets and police at every corner, monitoring pedestrian traffic. I don't think I have ever been as tired, two early am flights in three days meant we were spent pretty much spending all day in bed at Chungking Mansions, the room was the smallest yet about 2 metres wide by 3 long also incorporated in that space was a bathroom, the word tiny certainly does not suffice as a verb to describe the room, however its Hong Kong its to be expected.
When we managed to make it out of our temporary hibernation it was to fulfill one of Helens major ...

Not much zig zagging over this great city today.. no Octopus card use at all!! It will be wondering where I am..
All my activities are within a 30 minute walking distance by overhead / over traffic walkways.. a brilliant concept used by many asian countries.. keeps the traffic below flowing and us above, dry and safer too. It is off to a Expo I go!! Ho ho ho...

... A son and mother were travelling in the bunk below us. While his English was limited we did managed to spark a bit of conversation with him. Sharing food and showing him pictures of England which he found very interesting. The trip to the toilet was an experienced, basically a cubicle with a hole in the floor leading to the tracks but I can't complain when I've spent £15 on our 15 hour train journey. At 9 o'clock all the lights on the train were switched off ...
