    Today the 9 hour train ride from Shanghai ended in the Taiwan Straight city of Xiamen, known as a romantic city on the sea. Indeed, after dropping my bags in a Home Inn that does welcome foreigners, I head to the Jimei school area in Xiamen, complete with a mini lake, dragon boats and pagodas for lovers to sit together and enjoy a warm evening.

    "We spent today with a Chinese student. I was paired with a boy called Turney but we went in a group with Kyle and Johnny, the boy he was paired with. We went for a bike ride near the beach and after Kyle had to buy a new tshirt because his was 'wringing with sweat'.
