We have just had three wonderful days on the island of Gulangyu, near Xiamen in Fujian Province. It is Easter weekend at home, and in China it is Qing Ming Jie, Tomb Sweeping Day, where families return to their hometowns if they can, clean the family grave sites, pray and leave offerings of food, fruit and flowers.
