... my breath away. How many years ago had I read about the pink dolphins in China (called Chinese White Dolphins) and longed to see them - I don't know, but I had wanted to see them for so long. I fumbled around for my binoculars to see them closer up and it was really, really special. Although my hands were shaking so it was quite hard to hold the binoculars! ... them up when I get back to school. Back to our holiday. A long weekend, with no school on Monday, so we rushed to the airport on Friday afternoon, worried that we would miss our flight. We took the fast train, the Maglev, which reached a speed of 431 kms/hour. Not a pleasant experience, as it was rocking far too much for my comfort. The trip did only take six minutes though. ... s big Buddah and lots of other ones on the side, I would tell you who they were but the tour leader had good but broken English which made it hard for getting the correct pronunciation!! We meandered our way through other Temples gradually climbing lots of stairs along the way. The last area to go was to s huge big rock with something to do with Buddah written on it, there was more climbing to do to get up to the top but that was as far as our tour leader went. ...

Had a lazy day today staying around the Hotel Indigo. We walked down Zhongshan Lu and had lunch at Aijsen Ramen, one of our favourite Japanese restaurant chains. We then wandered back to the hotel and had afternoon tea sitting up in the restaurant area overlooking the harbour and Gulangyu Island, unfortunately not warm or nice enough to sit outside.
