So, it's my first day in China. Wow. The people here are so nice to me, even though we have no idea what the other person is saying. The lady I sat next to on the plane always gave me her bread during our meals, and I gave her my salad and yoghurt. At least I think we were trading, because we were gesturing with words that the other didn’t understand. In any case, I ate her bread, and she ate some of my food, so I think it was okay. She looked happy ...

... of the chinese buffet and after a refreshing shower managed to get about seven hours sleep. My room was on the 20th floor so I was able to get a good view of the area around the hotel. Some places look better from on high, this wasn't one of them. ... It's not a supply problem its a demand problem. All the clothes shopping here is westerny fashiony ********. It's not high quality fabric. Chinese people are not looking for that, so it's not available to buy, or when it is, it's not as cheap as it should be.

Overall I think Guangzhou is my favorite city, it's more tropical here, feels like I'm back in Southeast Asia. The girls are more beautiful, and the men ...

... mango trees everywhere, not ripe yet though.

The sun was very overbearing this day. 2 of the 3 of us got some bad sunburns. I never even thought of it so I opened my shirt up because I was hot, and at the end of the day my entire chest was red, but not very painful. We unfortunately did not have time or energy for one of the bigger sites, even though we walked 3+ km to close to the entrance gate.

Leaving Hong Kong behind, we made our way north on one of the regular train services from Hung Hom station in Kowloon to Guangzhou, the fourth largest city in China and the central hub of the Pearl River delta. This is one of the most populated parts of the world - with the closely packed cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and others having a combined population of over ...
