After a wild and eventful adventure across the Indian Ocean Basin too breathtaking to capture fully in words, it's difficult to believe that this expedition has come to a complete halt. If only summer lasted forever so that I could continue to expand upon my knowledge of the region back then! Chinese food and I don't get along so great, but there are a couple of factors in this: me not having any working tastebuds and the fact that I couldn't go near spicy food – which may have livened things up a bit. In short, being ill has coloured my opinion of Chinese food, but there you go.

You don't order for yourself, but rather choose a selection of dishes that everyone at the table can pick from. N is Chinese but ...

... told the ride would take a lot longer than it actually did and we were dumped in Yangshuo in the middle of the night. We spent around 2 hours looking for a place to stay and we eventually did. We slept for a few hours and set off looking for a more affordable hotel.
