The drive was only about 450 KM but it took forever on small roads with pot holes in Bulgaria. Crossing from Bulgaria to Greece the customs were yet again confused but 'Ferri Bot Istanbul' explained everything. It is really nice to attend these conferences because it is many of the same people from year to year and we have developed many friends whom we enjoy seeing different areas and cultures with. Greece was very different, its culture is interesting, the economic trouble are not really noticeable, they are a very laid back people ...
... of buses! The resort is beautiful but not very Greek looking, very modern. I can see a town not far off so we will walk there today. The area is really cool, mountainous and full of hotels and beaches. This country is a country of beaches. This is like a huge Catskill area for Greece. If you look at a map of Greece we are in the Macedonia region where there are 3 peninsulas, we are on the middle one to the southern tip of it.
