... store and use our newly acquired German to ask for a sink plunger. The man has no idea what we are talking about but takes us to the sink section. We find a plunger. Slightly large for our minuscule sink, but it will do. The man returns to ask us in embarrassingly perfect English if we found what we need because he is shutting soon (it is 11am on a Tuesday!!). We get some hose to enable us to fill up with water and leave the man to shut up his shop. Next stop is ...

On Friday morning, I called the Stuttgart tourist information office to inquire whether or not the tours would be held today since it was a holiday--Tag der Deutschen Einheit (Day of German Unification)--the 24th anniversary of the reunification of Germany. The exhibits include several older Mercedes and a few modern Mercedes race cars. Those pictures are on our ...

... a little girl eating my pink ice cream out of a cute little square dish! The raspberry was amazing and tart and beautiful with the vanilla – both soy. The slice was also fantastic, a layer of tart bright red gel with whole raspberries atop a large layer of coconut crème which almost bordered on meringue and a fantastic light chocolate sponge layer which tasted of real quality chocolate.

We planned a return jaunt for lunch the next day and looked forward to eating ...

... at the Volksfest ever since I got to Germany. I didn't go on any of the crazy rides because honestly, they scare me. There were also international booths like "The American Shooting Range" so the kids in my class thought that I should try it out. I also went into the beer tents, which was filled with traditional German music, beer, drunk Germans, and people dancing in their dirndl's and lederhosen. It was really an experience to remember and I had a great time. And now I want a dirndl. ...
