... the last turn, we reach Alila Diwa. Pronounced 'diva' locally, I was especially looking forward to this experience- diva was exactly how wanted to feel! After a few cursory glances from security, we were checked in with complimentry drinks. The resort was not a disappointment with infinity pool, gym, poolside bar and bistro I was a happy girl. Better still, as there was a wedding in the main complex, we were upgraded into the 'Diwa Club'- the exclusive rooms, which came with ...

Thankfully there was a backup plan and the following night we get invited by the owner of one of the bars in town to go to ...

... House in Anjuna Beach. The area is quiet at this time of year with many of the accommodation options closed until October when the influx of visitors must make the place chaotic. There is a sufficient number and range of eateries and bars open to give enough variety over the few days we were planning to spend here so the lack of crowds was definitely a plus. Quite by chance we happened upon a rare Indian delicacy which hopefully will play ...

    Kovalam to Anjuna

... to the market in Mapsa yesterday, with Ashley and Lisa on their scooter too... Mapsa market is a really hussle and bussle of a place, with a mixture of tourist "come see my shop"'s and locals stalls and shops, selling an amazing array of items. We had a shopping list which made for a great hunting afternoon... Toothpicks, earphones, shaving soap and brush, 2 into 1 headphones adapter etc. This would be easy in the UK, but each item is from a different sort of shop, but ...
