Rua Cidade de Sintra Macau Peninsula, Macau, China, 2888-9966

So we started today touring to Victoria Peak using the tram. That was fun and the view from the peak we very nice after the clouds cleared. But most of this stuff is starting to blend together....too much tourist stuff. Just to mention it and because I have a lot of pictures of it the walk to the tram took us past a aviary in the center of admirality. It was nice and had many more birds that Ocean park. Now for the fun part of today was going to Macua on the turbojet boat. This is a hydrofoil...
Macau, Macau 2ifbycMay 27 was Macau day for Mo and me. At about 10 a.m. we headed to the ferry and after going through the shopping center at the terminal (where I discovered you can buy duck tongue and chicken feet neatly and individually packaged and immediately thought how lovely a treat for Halloween they would make) and going through customs we boarded our boat for Macau. It takes just over an hour to get there...I fell asleep so as we pulled into the harbor I was shocked to see sheets of rain coming down....
Macau, Macau misspiaI'm actually writing this from a hostel in downtown Saigon, but we'll get to that later. First, there's a lot to cover from Hong Kong. Let's hope I can remember most of it. But, before we even get to that, I forgot to reflect on my time in China before I got to reflecting on my future down south. It doesn't surprise me that I did that - I don't think I'm a very judgemental/reflective person a lot of the time. Something to think about maybe. That being the case, I don't have anything too profo...

Macau Peninsula, Macau, China simbah... Once we get there, our dreams will come true and the pieces of our lives will fit together like a completed jigsaw puzzle. Restlessly we pace the aisles, damning the minutes - waiting, waiting, waiting for the station. "When we reach the station, that will be it!" We cry. "When I'm 18." "When I buy a new 450sl Mercedes Benz!" "When I put the last kid through college." "When I ...
Macau, Macau janetportin... pot and only about 350 chips left. I'm thinking the only thing that could beat me is pocket Kings, but he just limped in on the button and called before the flop so it wasn't likely. I go all in and the fool calls me even though all could beat was a stone cold bluff. And I don't bluff (LOL). He reloaded and came back to the table. I looked at the other 3 people at the table and we silently decided to split the rest of his money. He got lucky a couple times and I got ...
Macau, China rcysToday I managed to delete all the pictures from Zachs camera. This means that we lost all the cool ones from Chicago. And we really did have some cool ones. For dinner we went to Aqua which is a italian-japanese combination resteraunt. We got there early and took a few pictures of the ...
Hong Kong, China ntitctkt... escalator in the world, well a series of linked escalators that run 800 odd metres up a hill. The second area is Kowloon side. It is a 4km strip of land that has been developed to house most of the population. it also the side that has all the main skyscrapers. Apparently is one of the most highly populated areas in the world with 100,000 in each square kilmetre. Even with such a huge population it is still very easy to get around with the MTR (metro) and bus ...
Hong Kong, China edsanoz... alley ways full of knock off jeans, bags, wallets, watches, and everything else you might not want to pay full price for. But even the real things in legit stores are extremely cheap. And we were told Vietnam, India, and Burm it only gets even more cheap - so I kept my shopping to a minimum - which for anyone who really knows me understands what a feat that was!!!  Our flight to Guilin took off around 1535 (3:35pm) and I did just fine. Dave - a friend of mine from the ship ...
