The Adventure Begins Again!

... the x-ray machine. I just thought it would save a lot of hassle if we just lay on the rollers and went through yourself.
After I got the all clear I went off to the departure lounge and then finally boarded the plane. My trip this time is going from Bristol to Paris to Salt Lake City, which is a lot better than the route I took in the summer.
The flight to Paris went really quick. By the time we got settled it seemed like we were there. My next flight to Salt Lake City was ...

Waiting at the airport

Well - being in Cardiff was good since it is the closest airport, being on a 2-hr drive to the hotel. But had to wait about an hour for the rental car place to open up.

At least I got to go through the visitor information brochures and grab a bite at Burger King.

Wales = Wow

... didn't think you'd get off easy now did you? You know by now if I find something unusual I am going to report on it.

Bevan often told the public and Parliament that WWII and the crisis of its aftermath gave Britain the chance to remake itself into a new society. A little digging and I found out that Bevan was a Karl Marx devotee, and I learned he often quoted this convoluted and hard to understand mess that was written by Marx in 1855 ...

the tale of Wales and two wild women!!!

... where we discovered the best devonshire teas. The weather has been amazing. We are now on the south of Wales in another pretty coastal town called Llanwitt Major, about 30 minutes from Cardiff. Maureen and Andy have welcomed us into their home for a couple of days where we will base ourselves to tour around Wales.

... Wales without having been there. My attraction to the castles in Wales is the classic medieval look most of the have. They are the type of castles of drew when I was kid, the ones with turrets, moats, and draw bridges. So we hopped on the train to Caerphilly, and after a short walk through the town, we arrived at the castle. Caerphilly Castle is huge, and a new we could spend a few hours there easily. The sun was shining yet again, and we had a slow look around ...

Missed the bus just by a few minutes

... leans at an angle of 10 degrees. Part of the castle is left in ruins and some has been rebuilt. I enjoyed it. Walked to the bus station to get a bus back to Cardiff to find out that I had missed it by 5 minutes and the next one was in an hour!! How annoying!! Finally made it back to Cardiff to catch the bus back to Swansea. At Swansea I then caught the bus to the Mumbles- which went the long way!! Finally made it back to Andy's and continued to enjoy his pay TV!!

Cardiff

Hi all, Well what a busy few weeks it has been. Sorry for the lack of up dates but the internet is quite expensive at times and not always available for us to send a message. This will be a brief update as we don't have a lot of time. From Edinbrough we traveled north to Inverness where we stayed at our first B & B and visited Loch Ness. The B&B's were good and probably the better of all the one's we have visited. Unfortunately we could not see the monster but we still enjoyed ...
