Great place to stay
This is a great place to stay. Very clean and the staff is very helpful. My only complaint is the .95 charge just to use the telephone.
Alot is expected with the hotel chain~name Wyndham...I had read all the reviews b4 booking my reservation. This hotel charged valet parking$14 a nite & $10 self parking...this can really add up if your stay is more than 3 days. thankful I had taken a cab to the hotel & not rental a car. The hotel staff are very polite & pleasant, makes the extra effort to please YOU!! It really paid off being a member~member services you get favorite fruit plate and best view/rm & your favorite drink upon arrival in your room...very nice....nothing else much in the area. The health spa is $16. a day 2 blks walk. I had a free pass as part of my reservation. a 1 day pass...there is a large outdoor pool, 2 whirlpools, sauna, basketball/tennis courts...& massage spa. I had a lovely deep tissue massage. This was the best of what the hotel had to offer. The rooms are in the process of being re-done...the carpet is being replaced on the entired 10fl I was told and the floor was closed off. I do recommend this hotel & it's better if you don't mind taking cabs...the hotel does offer free shuttle service to & from TAMPA airport only...I came in from St. Peterburgs/Clearwater airport. Do check out the International shopping mall...The buffet b'fast is very good too $12.60 tax incl. only one restaurant & a small unevenful bar w/lite snacks. not bad if you just want a quick bit. maid service was very good.& rooms clean with lots of good running hot water. no whirlpool/spa directly on the property. One outdoor pool was small but nice (heated) August 19-23-04.

The Wyndham Harbour should have a posted warning at the lobby entrance. You are at risk at this hotel.
The valet wrecked our family car. They did not ntofy us for 4 hours, until the responsible valet and his supervisors were gone for the day.
The management did not notify the police. The Tampa policeman that WE called was shocked by the hotels negligence. The hotel's risk management firm refused to compensate us in any way. The management of the hotel did NOT even compensate us at all, we payed full fare for our stay.
We have stayed at this Wyndham and others many times in the past. Please be advised that this hotel and corporation are unethical and dishonest. Don't risk it. There are many beautiful hotels in Tampa. do yourself a favor and choose another.
Not bad for $70 (Priceline)
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Got it for $70 (including all taxes) through Priceline. After reading the reviews posted here, I was very nervous. However, I actually was pleasantly surprised. The hotel has a very nice lobby and is located in one of the nicer sections of Tampa. The room was worn (mostly the carpeting), but was clean. My only real gripe about the hotel was that it seemed to very short-staffed. There is a Marketplace in the lobby that serves Starbucks coffee. One day it didn't open until 1 p.m.! The pool area is very small (clean) and has a pool bar, but it was closed. Again, seemed to be a staffing problem. If you are looking for a full-service hotel, this is definitely NOT the place to stay. However, for $70 per night, I really have no complaints.
I had planned a romantic surprise getaway for several weeks. Waiting in anticipation for the day that we'd check into this seemingly romantic hotel had finally arrived. I showed up at 2:55, since check in was at 3:00. The girl at the front desk told me the room wasn't "quite" ready yet and that we were free to use the pool facilities. We obliged and decided to check out the pool, only to find it FULL OF BUGS, I'm talking swarms. So, we decided to hang in the lounge to get a couple frozen drinks, 20 min went by, then 30, then 40, etc. I approached the desk and asked when our room would be ready, they replied "there were 7 people ahead of us!!!" I asked, isn't check-in at 3? They replied, "check in STARTS at 3". They offered me a smoking room with two double beds. I reiterated that I requested a non-smoking room with a King. The "Manager" told me he'd knock off 15 from the price (the lower cost room was 30 less???). So I talked the "Manager" into giving us the room we didn't want for what it costs anyway! We settled for this room because we were told our room might not be ready for another hour on top of everything. We said "fine". What about our bags? They said, they'd send them right up. Well, 45 minutes goes by and we called the bell hop, they stated the front desk NEVER called them! You can only imagine my DISGUST! Bottom line, if you want a room with a pretty view, then this is the place for you. Other than that, look else where!

This is the second to the worst hotel I have ever stayed on a business trip (the first is the Radisson in King of Prussia - stay away!). I told my boss I will quit if he ever send me here again. I had my room changed 3 times. The first room was completely run down - very worn, blackened carpet, peeling wallpaper, scruff marks all over one wall, and mildew covered bathroom tiles. The 2nd room has strong odors, one of the phone line doesn't work. The 3rd room looked almost okay...until I peeled back the bedspread and found spotty blanket AND HAIR (!!!) on the sheet! I would have moved across the street to the newer Marriot if it won't for the fact it's midnight when I made these DISGUSTING discoveries! The 2 reviewers that had good experiences must had stayed in one of their "show rooms...which are the newer rooms," which they offered up after I asked to have my room changed the 3rd time. But they must only have a few since the only "show room" they had available was one with 2 double beds. So, if you must stay here, only stay in the "show rooms." Otherwise, RUN - do not walk - across the street to the Marriot. You'll get the same habour view, but the rooms won't be GROSS!!!
"Worst CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!"
Worst stay EVER at hotel! Hotel room was hot - asked for new room - same thing. Then told to "open your windows" on the 10th floor - which had no screens! Then informed that we would "get a fan" but told an hour later that "we can't find one." Finally asked for our money back so we could leave - informed that since we booked through a "third party" that we could not get our money back. Asked to transfer to another Wyndham locally - informed NO they would not do that. Called Corporate and informed we had to deal with local management - which were total jerks! Finally given a free breakfast the following morning (after switching us to the handicap room so we could open the doors!), even though they tried to charge us $10 for parking as well. This hotel is the Worst! The views may be beautiful, but God be with you if you have a problem!DO NOT STAY HERE!
Great views, nice place
I stay in a lot of Wyndhams, and this one is one of my favorites. Views over the harbor are really gorgeous, and my room was clean, new and nice. The lobby and check in desk is handsome, more business-like than sleek. Good location, central to lots.
A nice place
We found this hotel to be a good place to stay. The rooms have nice views, the location is convenient to Tampa sights and activities, and the staff are attentive and gracious. Not everything in our room was brand new, but it wasn't old and worn either. I would stay there again.
The room is what you would think a room at Savannah's Motel 6 looks like. The carpet seems as if a marathon had been run through it. All of the furniture (i personally checked all the items) is chipped in different places. The last time I saw the type of lamps in that room was in the movie Casino. I was shocked by the poor quality of rooms and by the fact that Wyndham has maintained its name on the property. The staff indicated that a renovation is in process. The hotel should be closed in the meantime.

Ken had forgotten to get something at Walmart so he and Jerry went back. I cleaned up the kitchen and then tried to find NCIS on television but couldn't find CBS. Needless to say Jerry found it as soon as he got back.
Early to bed after NCIS New Orleans and slept well. Looking forward to the big show ...
DAY 365 - Where did the time go? We are in Tampa, and we will spend until this Saturday am here and then we have a week in Disney, then we will look around Orlando, to see if we may be interested in making this area home. Our reasoning, possibly working the winter season here and continuing to travel 6 months of the year. We are contemplating the Maritimes in Canada next summer with several of the friends we made on our Alaska ...

First stop was the Boat House, this is a bar on the water that is barely stable, health and safety back home would condemn this place lol. Next we moved on to Dockside Davidsons for a bite to eat which is a very nice location again by the water. With live music, great friends, hot sun beating down, watching the boats in the marina life just couldn't get any better. ...
