First Impressions
Dear friends and family,
just to let you know, Lara and I have
arrived safely in NYC. We just checked into our hotel room 20 minutes
ago. The flights were long and we are very tired (we probably got about
half an hour sleep each) so we are glad to have a bed to lay our heads.
Some highlights of the trip were:
A Crazy Day 2
Day 2 in the City was more hectic than Day 1. We did a lot of the stereotypical touristy things today. We saw Wall Street, Ground Zero and the Statue of Liberty. It was a bit colder today but I really enjoyed it. Sitting on an open top ferry in freezing temperatures was actually really nice (we were well rugged up.)

The Park
Today we headed to Central Park. Determined not to sleep in like yesterday, we headed out at about 8.30. It was so cold! Definitely colder than any other day we have been here, but thankfully it was still bright blue skies.
The park is beautiful. It really is a sanctuary in a crazy city. There were a whole bunch of tourists and locals …
Wife, Mom, Daughter, Cheerleader, Nurse, and 40!!!
... stopped at Trump tower which is located at 40 Wall Street and got a picture of Brandi under the sign. Unfortunately we realized too late that she was still wearing her poncho and we need a retake at some point. She thought 40 and Broadway would be another good photo op. We continued on thinking we’d hit Times Square, Empire State Building, and Rockefeller Plaza. We walked up by City Hall and the NYSE and the significance was lost on the kids. The boys feet ...

... it was fine. The tour was in the afternoon so in the morning we just roamed round town and visited Bryant Park and the New York Public Library to get into the swing of things for the tour. It was lucky we did because on the tour we only just quickly drove past these places. The library is a stunning and amazing building. It was so beautiful and the detail painted into the roof is just crazy. We learnt on the tour that people do have weddings at this location (like Carrie was meant ...
