Packed up and headed out around 5 pm, a full 5 hours afer my original departure time. Oh well, departure days are generally hectic. Daily sesh then headed out to scoop Ryan up. Met up with Christa and Sumner, equipped Betsy (my car) with a roof bag, and headed down to the beach for a picture together. We didn't make the Pancake Pantry unfortunately this morning as I was hoping to bring Pops to one last pancake stop on our way home. But thankfully, he was feeling a little better this morning and was able to get a bagel down at the breakfast bar downstairs at the hotel. We got out a little after 6am and drove Pops around some of the highlights of downtown Nashville- Broadway, the honky tonk bars, Union Street ...

... The campground is really nice. Very foresty, but it's actually just a short drive from the freeway. Makes it convenient. Perhaps we'll stay longer next time. One thing I've noticed on the drive-the Carolina's are absolutely beautiful. It seems we're crossing yet another river about every 10 minutes or so. And all you see along the freeway are trees. Lots of big, beautiful trees. No biilboards, no power lines, just trees and water. I love it.
