We made the Navy Pier afterwards, a large structure jutting into Lake Michigan , containing bars, theaters specialising in Shakespeare no less , and docks for large lake cruisers including a spectacular tall ship. We sipped beers and looked at the Lake and the City. The afternoon culture fix was the Art Institute of Chicago one of the. Worlds best galleries we did the American Art, Impressionists and some Ancient ...

On day 1 however we decided to check off a few of the touristy things we had on our list. We walked down to 360 Chicago which is a high rise building that has a great view of the city. We sat at the bar ...

... comes to an end and we pay the bill which is over $100 and we tip the waitress $10. She looks at the $10note and screws her face up at it and says, "is this it? The expected tip is 15/20%". Mum says "that's not how we do it". Based on her arrogance, we should have only given her $1. The topic of the waitress consumes our conversation as we beat the footpaths of Chicago in search of Garrett's popcorn for dessert. Now they say this Chicago popcorn is a must do, ...
