The seven hour flight is relatively uneventful other than Rob Roy can't wait for the beach making her rounds with elbows high and fake smiles firing off volleys of turkey buns to appease the restless. Yesterday, I tried to fix my stay at a guest ranch in the Texas Hill Country. However, the ranch of my choice is closed for a week due to a family wedding. I have checked for alternatives, but I either do not like the ranch or it is way too expensive. Therefore, I will jump on a horse in New Mexico or Arizona. Naturewise I will like those states better anyways.
So, this forenoon I will hop in a bus to San Antonio. Jan 29th in the evening, I will fly to El Paso.
Oh my goodness! What a night! 8 girls in 1 room coming and going at any time of the night. Making loud noises, putting the light on, snorring crazy, clogging the toilet, jumping around in the upper bunk, very limited respect. Under these circumstances I had my difficulties catching sleep. Am I getting too old for a dorm?

... and the only two times this far I have had to take evasive action has been from trucks pushing me onto the shoulder of highways or just cutting us off. The most common annoyance is that they seem intent on racing one another. They aren't speed limited so its possible to follow trucks here doing 80mph! They pass another truck on a two lane section and then we arrive at a section of road whereby the gradient increases. You can hear them grabbing gears and slowing but ...
... and probably putting on weight, does as he pleases and gets on and off at his whim. The point was very clear.
Something we did find rather challenging was the volume - the singers and the different speakers were so loud.
We needed to leave by 1.30pm so we got up towards the end of the Pastor speaking and said a quick goodbye to the kids' friends and left.
