... fever had gripped our
class. Soon after we put on our own version of the show based on the
famous Robert Browning poem and I was cast as Narrator 1. And that is
where it all began. Something else also began that day.... a
fascination with the weird and unusual. The story of the small German
town is based on a half forgotten legend of 130 children who
disappeared following the arrival of a stranger in Hamelin in July
Around 90% of Hannover were destroyed during WW2 and when I saw some of
the old houses that remained untouched it really broke my heart as I
could only imagine how pretty this city must have once been.
I hope you will enjoy the (rebuilt) remains as much as I did.
After work some colleages and I went out and walked through the city center down to the Marschsee. There was a festival and we were curious to see it.
We ended up sitting around the Maschsee having a nice conversation and watching people passing.

... an ambition of jumping off the 5 metre diving board. Again James had to work, but we headed out to Hannover in the evening for more gin and 2 foot long pork kebabs - delicious! Hannover impressed in the short time we spent there. Wednesday morning and it was time to go after ruining James' work week with booze and seeing the kids hopefully form a strong friendship for the future. Thanks to all the Backers for a great few ...
... Roman Empire and it wasn't until Napoleon came along and invaded that life in Hannover was interrupted to any serious degree. After he was banished though, life returned to normal. And we all know about the searing insanity that burned through Germany in the last century. The large Jewish population was completely wiped out and many other horrific and evil acts took place.
