I have been both excited and saddened by this morning. It means our last morning with Jim and Steph, but it also marks the beginning of our time with Jeni and Bill at their lake house. As an extra added bonus, it means I FINALLY get to go and buy a hand stitched Amish Quilt (and maybe a few other things) to use for the 'Midwest' themed guest room I plan on decorating when we get home. :-)
... Yes, she still paints at the age of 90!
Many of the other family members showed up to spend time with Dotty and though most of the kids were at summer camp, but we sure enjoyed the ones that were there! What a group! What a blast!
Today Mike and Stephanie went water skiing. She totally showed him up!
We just spent the day trying to recoup from last night. Tonight we get to do it all again!
Several of the neighbors put on firework shows on the fifth and also on the weekend following the fourth. Both the fourth and the weekend after come complete with a hog roast and a day of partying.

... boat. Then on to the beach here on the lake. Lots of canon balls from the floating docks. From the beach we all hopped onto boats and went floating in a big group.
After floating and eating all day we have a big fireworks show ALL around the lake and set off some lanterns for those we love and miss.

... our prayers. The RV was shaking and you could feel the ground tremors. It finally started to let up around 2:30am. We knew it was close but we found out the next morning that we didn't have any power other than batteries and the generator. The campground came out and checked the power in the box and that was fine so it was us. Fortunately the RV manufacturer was right up the road and they agreed to look at it for us ...
