First day on the road.....pulling double trailers....in 35 mph winds gusting to 40 mph in the Flint Hills of Kansas....speed limit 75 and I'm going 58 trying to conserve fuel and hold her on the road....9 hours and 3 tanks of fuel later, I made it to the Cimmaron RV Park in Stillwater, Oklahoma. We stopped in Oklahoma for the weekend to spend time with Jenny and Camron (Tj's sis and bro-in-law) ...Zoe is so happy to be in a home around people who love her and not just a hotel! Through Oklahoma we managed to stay to the Old Route the most due to there being less interstates and more Turnpikes (toll roads) which we have been avoiding. After a few towns passed through we were looking to maybe stay in Tulsa which is quite a big city, when we got in there, we werent too impressed on what it had to offer so we decided to move on to the next town on the route which is Stroud. Guthrie has a huge section dedicated to historic district, so being in town is like being there at the turn of the century. They have kept many brick streets, and the buildings have been restored to their former glory, and we found it to be a peaceful, lovely town.
