    ... Tower Blocks.

    For the first couple of days we took organised tours. Day 1 covered the Ming Tombs and The Great Wall then Day 2 covered The Forbidden City, The Summer Palace and The Temple of Heaven. As the tours are run by the Government you also get “bonus visits” to Jade/Pearl Factories and Tea Ceremonies where you have the opportunity to handover large amounts of Yuan.

    Having a local guide means you also get a bit of an insight to life in the city ...

    ... when she heard my voice. Managed to mail Trish, Aunty Trish, Sharon, Yvonne and Elaine. Some replies back to. Then onwards to Russia. Had dinner with other James and found out he had won a trip around the world in 15 days ! He was also married with a baby ! I thought he was just another backpacker.     ... crowd of tourists and then blew their car up, killing all three inside as well as killing two tourists and injuring 68 others! There is a reason China has so much security at airports and train stations.

    After some quick dinner, some of us took taxis to a popular bar district, where we wandered around and took in some live music. It was a really great spot. One day I'll figure out what it was called and go back!

    Woke up early this morning to find the sunrays struggling to reach mother earth despite the cloudy and polluted air hovering much of the sky. Attended the church service in Chinese and didn't understand much of the sermon as it was spoken in heavily accented Baoding accent (not my fault).
