    ... so much for luggage allowance now. Many bought them here as they had seen them in markets but no where near same quality. Last stop for day was to travel to Hutong Village, traditional Chinese village for lunch made by a family. Bus got caught in gridlocked traffic on the way , cars were double parked, and bus was met with 2 lanes of oncoming traffic, was crazy, cars trying to squeeze past parked cars and the bus, we would have sat there without moving for 45 mins. We were able to enter one of these homes which the owner had opened up to tourists so we could see first-hand what a hutong looked like on the inside. From the narrow alleyway, we walked through an unremarkable door and into a beautiful square courtyard surrounded on all sides by rooms.     ... crowd of tourists and then blew their car up, killing all three inside as well as killing two tourists and injuring 68 others! There is a reason China has so much security at airports and train stations.

    Woke up early this morning to find the sunrays struggling to reach mother earth despite the cloudy and polluted air hovering much of the sky. Attended the church service in Chinese and didn't understand much of the sermon as it was spoken in heavily accented Baoding accent (not my fault).
