Nanshan Temple and Canal Trip

A travel blog entry by caroline63 on Nov 01, 2015

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

I even played table tennis and they thought I was good which is amazing seeing their national sport is table tennis. I said goodbye ...

Today we woke up at the reasonable hour of 7 o'clock. By 8 o'clock we were downstairs and having breakfast after a decent 10 minutes looking for breakfast coupons. Breakfast involved the usual fried rice which this time was not quite up to standards. By 8:50 we were all downstairs and ready to head to Xiaqiao Middle School (our sister school). We were greeted by many school officials and a speech was made by their Principal. Dean scratched something ...

... were delicious and Tang Fei agreed. We went on a tour around Changshu which was very interesting. Then I went home with Tang Fei to spend my last night with her family. tang Fei gave me some presents and they are just beautiful. I got an embroidered rose in a gorgeous frame, a calligraphy set and a huge wall hanging. I can't wait to see them hanging in my room! The dinner was absolutely delicious. It was mostly chicken which is my favourite meat. ...
