... The river was really neat to see, as were the houses. The view up from the valley floor was incredible as well. This was a quick little part of our day, but worth mentioning!

The other thing I forgot was the scariest part of our trip. That's only because I'm terrified of heights, Jonathan was fine. We climbed the tower of the town hall building to get the view at the top. I guess I didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into, but maybe the fact that only ...

... door, and when I held up my hand to indicate I wanted a table for two, I simply got a stern head shake "no" from a waitress. Well I guess that didn't work out. So we decided to pick one of the recommendations in our guide book. After wandering around a bit more we found it, popped in to ask for a table and got the exact same experience. ... and Dan get so excited when they find them and we can't help but get caught up in their enthusiasm!! They are good though)
We then had to have chocolate crepes for dessert - yummy!

After walking and enjoying the markets & town some more, we headed back to our hotel. We left the town by a different exit, so were a little lost for a while. Thanks to Meg's great navigational skills (which she clearly didn't get from her mother) we made it back safely.

... farms had panels on the barns as well! Why not? About 1 pm we arrived in Rothenburg. Just outside the old walled city, there were supermarkets and gas stations. Then John parked the bus, and we all walked through a gate in the wall and were in another century, with cobbled streets and colorfully stuccoed steep-roofed buildings.
