Historical Traveler Reviews Wright by the Sea Delray Beach

          Vintage Florida at it's Best

          from

Last weekend my family attended a memorial gathering for my father-in-law at Wright by the Sea. We had a wonderful time. The staff was there if we needed them at a moment's notice, but if they were not needed were out of site and allowed us to hang out just like we were at home. We had a large gathering there on Sunday to memorialize my father-in-law complete with caterers. The Tiki Hut was a great place to gather for this occasion and be together as family and friends in his memory. Being a native Floridian, this resort reminded me of the family hotels we used to stay in when I was a child. The rooms were great, clean and comfortable beds! We'll be back.

          Florida at It's Best!

Father's Day Weekend was a very special weekend for me and my Family. We all gathered to Celebrate my Husband's Life, who had recently passed away.

I had many out of town guests, 40+, and when I met with Tammy, LaGuardia and Jack to set this weekend up....I was treated like Family. They were concerned and so helpful in making this a beautiful memory for all who attended.

The facility is wonderful, Florida at it's best! On Sunday, I had 100+ family & friends come to a 4 hour event at the Resort, honoring my husband.

Wright By The Sea Resort and it's Staff helped make this tribute even better than I had planned.

My Family loved the facility so much, we plan on returning next year for a reunion.

Great place for families at Wright By the Sea

          from

We had a family memorial service at this hotel and all the families traveled from various parts of the country with babies and teenagers to honor a great husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend. The hotel was so accomodating to all of us and went out of their way to house as close to one another as possible. We have a huge family and don't get to see one another often so we had a wonderful time remembering a great person who left all of us much too soon. I can't say enough about the lovely accomodations and the kindness and curtosy of the staff at Wright By the Sea.

Highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

          Excellent accomodations and location

          from

Our family gathered for a memorial in rememberance of a recently departed relative. The family choose this place to be near what he held most dear to himself, his home and the ocean. A large group of his friends and relatives were able to use the facilities at WBTS to tell stories, eat meals, socialize, and, meet and make new friends.

We will always recommend WBTS as THE place for a family to spend time together.

Jack, Tammy, and staff were most helpful in making our stay as enjoyable as possible .... especially the coconut cutters for getting some off the trees for our kids.

          Wonderful Place

          from

My family chose Wright-by-the-Sea as the location for a "Celebration of Life" event following my father's recent passing. The staff was so helpful in coordinating rooms for all of the out-of-town guests, arranging space for the caterers and generally assisting us in any way that they could. We are so grateful to them for all of their help.

The resort itself is in a very easy to find spot directly on the ocean. The view and grounds are incredible and the guest rooms exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

          Memorial Day

          from

My husband and i just stayed at wright by the sea. The location and the room was great, but want to warn anyone that wants to go on a holiday. My husband went on Memorial Day for a quiet getaway. When we arrived we found out that three family reunions were planned for the weekend. It was very very noisy. People were drinking alcohol and partying in the courtyard almost the whole day. One family of about 10-15 people were sitting outside underneath our room playing cards and speaking very loudly for half of the day. We complained that the rules in the hotel stated they were to quiet down after 8:00p.m. The manager basicly told us to deal with it The party of the three families were going on til after 12:00p.m. The families basicly had bought out about 75% of the hotel. I wish the reservationist would of just rented it the whole hotel to them or told us that is would be a family reunion and that they would be drinking all day and into the night. We checked out early on Sunday night and went home to get some peace and quiet.

I will say one positive is the view was beautiful and the Tammy who is a staff member was very helpful and said we could of checked out early with no charge. We tried to tough it out, but ended up leaving Sunday evening anyway.

          Great Family Spot

          from

If you don't care about room decor or being close to town then this is the best place to be in Delray.

The view is absolutely breathtaking. The grounds are very private and secluded. There are very few rooms so it is quiet and exclusive. Ask for room 111 or 112 (second floor) and you will have both front and back porch and a direct view of the ocean. The rooms are a bit outdated but nice and spacious. The kitchens are pretty well stocked, just bring plenty of food to grill and everything else is provided.

This place is GREAT for families.

          A Beautiful Stay at Wright-by-the-Sea

          from

An outstanding property in great shape...worth the ocean front price!

Just completed my second stay and everything was exactly the same as last year, including the same staff. It is good to see the same faces and level of service on return. Try for a second floor room for best view of the ocean.

Great vacation spot--active OR lazy :)

          from

My husband and I went here for our Christmas holiday. We wanted a chance to escape the city to relax on the beach/by the pool, and we were delighted with the setting & room (room 109). The other hotels in the area are NOT on the beach, contrary to saying that they are a beachhouse, beach club, or cabana club. We did not want to have to cross 2 lanes of traffic in our bathing suits or have to drive from downtown to get to the ocean. We just walked out of our room in flipflops, past the pool, and there's the beach! Gorgeous (romantic) sunsets and a close downtown with restaurants, ice cream parlors, bars and (pricey) art gallery/jewelry/antique gift shops. At first I didn't like the fact that I had to stock my own kitchen and cook for the week, but after we shopped at the nearby grocery, I was glad to have my favorite foods (& wine) there and not have to pay roomservice or the typical hotel meal prices (we saved on tips doing this). We made pancakes and ate them out on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Overall a great vacation. We snorkeled once while there, played pingpong & shuffleboard (we saw others playing hoops) and even went jogging a few times! I am sad to be back home in the cold & snow.

The long line snaked back through the nightclub and casinoby the time we joined it. Our companions met us on the pier about 20 minutes later and we all waited for the pre-paid shuttle. And waited. And waited. Continuing our pessimistic pattern, we decided not to risk missing our flight and opted for a cab. It struck ...

We get a taxi from the hotel - ordered it at 9 this morning to pick us up at the hotel at noon. There is a scrum at the stand every time a taxi pulls in, but we are relaxed knowing the cabby has our name. There is a women trying to flag down a cab off the street, one pulls in, the cab driver has a name (not ours) but the flagger's husband insists since his wife flagged the ...

Our stay was at another time share resort, this time at Weston an outer suburb of Fort Lauderdale. A very posh suburb - they call themselves a city. This is where some of the rich and famous live and the streets are pampered. The resort that they put us in was an older version and not of the ...
