October 24. Majesty Plaza Hotel, Shanghai.

Ah, Shanghai. Modern skyscrapers dot the skyline in Shanghai, making a huge contrast to some of the places we have visited. Yes there are still hundreds of older buildings, but it is hard to take your eyes off of the amazing new buildings.

... Although I do feel guilty about ordering such an expensive item, he did not seemed too phased by the fact. Dinner consisted of a lot of talk about business and money, and Manlio recounted a lot about how he got his current position and what he has done with his money. I told him how I envied his position, which allows him to travel extensively, all at the expense of his company. According to Manlio, you never stop working on your resume, regardless your ...

12th October

We went straight to East Nanging Road which is a 3 mile long shopping experience then walked to the famous Bund which is right on the bank of the river where you can see all the notorious buildings from old Shanghai like the 'The Peace Hotel’ (Opium dealer owner) and the clock tower modelled on Big Ben. ... 2) the driver pointing out the hole in my jeans by touching it and feeling my leg; and 3) the driver sticking his hand between my legs to "grab" the map I had of the hostel. Holy shiz, I was sweating bullets by the time we FINALLY reached the hostel; I mean literally, I sweated through all three layers of clothing. So uncomfortable.

BUT, the trip drastically improved once we stepped inside the hostel. It was such a nice place!! And it had a bar!!!!! Hannah and ...

The hotel is well located, has a lovely lobby/registration area, access to a pedestrian street for shopping. The rooms were nice and roomy. My only criticism is the bathrooms were a disappointment, cracked tile an moldy areas. They were not consistent with the rest of the hotel appearance. The staff at reception is not rude, but not friendly either, little eye contact. The servers at the buffet were very helpful and nice. I would stay there again.
