... the Statue of Liberty and I was not disappointed. The sun was out and the old girl was a 10 on the 'awesome scale' standing on her pedestal on the island.

On the way back I felt brave enough to try the subway without reading any instruction. Getting a ticket was easy enough but finding my way around the system without a map was a stupid idea. The good news was that I ended up at Grand Central Station by accident and took the opportunity to mingled for a while. ...

They also had a fixed price theater menu but we decided we didn't really want a 3 course meal and it was cheaper to just get a main course. Turned out to be a good decision as the seafood linguine we both ordered was cheap but very good. Seafood seems to be cheap in USA compared to Australia.

      ... Not happy Jan :(.

We managed to get the subway back to the hotel in one piece (I now have a permanent map of the New York subway etched into my brain). We do have to be up insanely early for our Statue of Liberty tour tomorrow, so maybe staying out late roaming the city wasn't the smartest thing we've done. Oh well. Peace out from New York xo.

... opposite end from where we were trying to get to! Eventually we got to where we wanted and wandered around some more.

It was a hot day and the park was full of joggers and sunbathers, but this soon changed with the sudden change in weather as a thunderstorm rolled in. Everyone including ourselves took shelter under trees or by leaving the park completely. After about 10 minutes the trees only ...

... cab tour, our guide pointed out lots of the famous spots. It was strange, so much of the park looked familiar, but then again, so many TV shows and Movies are filmed in the Park. We saw the Kennedy Home, where Madonna lives in NY, the Home of Tiger Woods, where Marilyn Monroe lived with Joe D. The home John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and where the Murder took place. We did some jumping at the Fountain from the opening credits of Friends.
