    ... green colour due to oxidation. The tour around the base was very interesting and gave us great views of the statue that it didn`t really feel that anything was missed by not being able to go up to the top.
    We then stopped for a drink as it was very hot again, about 84 F, popped in to the gift shop and then boarded another ferry on to Ellis Island.

    11:00am - Tour of Manhattan
    our tour guide was Nick and he was very informative. We met our tour guide in Downtown Manhattan. We saw Wall Street and had our photo taken with the rather Large Rhino Statue outside Wall Street. We also saw 9/11 Memorial which is where the actual Twin Tower was standing. The memorial is like a waterfall and all the water goes into a large hole where the Twin Tower building stood. We had lunch at Downtown. ...

    ... and looked at the two big pools with waterfalls where the buildings used to be. It is beautiful and very sad. After that we went for a hotdog at a street vendor. yummm. Then we went for a big walk around the city where we saw city hall, St Pauls church where they helped all the people during 9/11 and the Grace cathedral (for me).     ... catch the ferry we saw a man wearing a "Play Rugby USA" t-shirt. We were both wearing our All Black shirts. We stopped and chatted for sometime. He is an Australian who has been living in Manhattan for 11 years. He came over to play rugby and got himself a job promoting rugby amongst disadvantaged kids.
