Beautiful day Drive through Forsyth, bypass Barnesville, on to Molena Impromptu stop in Molena for lunch at The Blackbird Cafe -- surprisingly good, and a quaint interior. The place was slammed with the Noon rush, but we got a table in 20 minutes. It was worth the wait. Our table was one of several aligned with a church pew against the wall as seating on that side (Patty sat there). Patty had a chicken salad sandwich and 8 I, a BBQ chicken sandwich. 3 Stars Arrived in Pine Mountain ...

... before dinner so much that we bought another bottle in the same shop as the evening before. This time we also got two souvenir glasses, which we still use.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant again. But that night the place was so slammed we had to eat from a limited menu at the bar. I think we had a less than memorable pizza.
Patty recalls being kept awake by revelers, but I don't remember being bothered by them.
That first morning was wonderful, I remember. Patty and I got up just after dawn, spent half an hour trying to find the tunnel going under the highway from our hotel complex and into the Gardens. We had a brisk walk along the golf course and lake, while fog was still lifting. Tres cool.
