    ... of spawning. Most come through in September. There are several ladies who sit at a window and count each fish for species! what a job. Wonder what they do for fun. There was an osprey nest with the mom feeding her chick on the structur Did I mention wind. There is always a wind through the Columbia River Gorge. Lewis and Clark were much more than an adventurers. The folks who made it to the Oregon coast were brave!

    Today I got a late start because after 2 weeks on the bike I have finally figured out what I need and don't need. So I started by designating one pannier to what I'm going to send back home from Bend. I figure I just lightened my load by about 10-12 lbs. I can't wait to get it in the mail tomorrow.     ... were breaking and the sun was shinning and we were relaxing. Gabe fished for about 3 hours that afternoon, and tried almost every lure he had, but no luck. Eventually we called it a day and headed back to our site to start dinner. This time it was easier and enjoyable. We relaxed in front of a fire that night and watched the sun set on the lake, simply perfect.

As we drove we came in and out of different vegetative zones…lodge pole pines alternating with wide, high mountain valleys under cultivation and also many with cattle grazing.     ... we went to the LaPine Food Bank and met with John, who runs the place and is the husband of her friend from the YaYa Sisterhood group. It was very interesting see how they run and distribute their food. It was a fairly larger place than our small storage room we have.
