... at their usual times.
Here are some photos from the grasslands of Mt Barry plateau, Governors Hill or Wireless Hill as it is also known, and the eastern and western trails to Panorama Point. Some more added from Garbut Point on the 29-30 August trip; and even more from the visit to Mt Barry and Governor's Hill on 6 September when we had to cut the ...
My final stop in India was to be Mumbai.
We were only in this vast city for one day which is a shame as we didn't get the chance to visit the much talked about slums to the east of the main city (so large are the slums that the largest generates 750 million pounds worth of revenue in one year).
What we did get see was fairly run of the mill by India's high standards. We took in India Gate which was as impressive as it was symbolic. This vast arch was the last port ...
If you have thought to put your relationships in order and finally accept the fact that estate planning is something most of us would be better off than having not, the next thing you might be wondering about is how to choose an estate planning attorney. The initial thing to keep in mind is that your estate planning attorney is a person who will share personal information. The end result is the one you select , you ...
Bombay, Maharashtra, India parmanlaw... their cousin, and their cousin's brother trying to overcharge you for everything even when you call them on their ****. Right now, I really hate this country. Maybe I'm getting old. 16 hours on a double priced train can set a fella to thinking, that's for sure. I am not going riding, sorry to disappoint, but the way luck is treating me this time round (probably because I have let my attitude deteriorate to this point), I can't bear the ...
Mumbai, India bloomer... October - Vijaya dashami / Dassera day. We checked into the MTDC by about 9am and promptly set off along the Panorama trail. The morning hours between 9am and 1pm, is the best time to enjoy the butterflies. A friendly stray dog at the MTDC who recognized us from our previous visit, accompanied us on the entire 6km round trip. The Panorama trail was our very own garden of Eden. This time around, the Karvies ...
Matheran, Maharashtra, India indianatureWelcome to India! Angela and I came back to India to visit Mehul and Bittu who were students of mine at Baldwin-Wallace College. Upon arrival in Mumbai, we flew south to Kochi in the Indian state of Kerala. Kochi is knows as "God's Own Country". We understand why. Our first night we stayed in a hut in Tall Trees, then went to a houseboat in the backwaters of Kochi. We travel ...
Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra, India sandystark...
Mumbai (Bombay), Maharashtra, India fnishi... in our cabin, they weren't bothering us that much, so Sharon and I didn't say anything and just hoped they would soon go back to wherever they had come from. Eventually, after about 2 hours, the train pulled into a station and the conductor and his friends got off. Then we really did get the cabin to ourselves, so we spread out a bit. I ordered dinner on the train since I'd done a very good job of cleaning out my fridge before leaving and thus, didn't have anything left to cook and ...
Mumbai (Bombay), India explr9... we turned onto a nice straight bit of path, he could grab Bustino's bridle to stop him thundering off into the distance. Surely, you'd think, he could have just kept pace with mine if that happened, and headed us off. But Bustino was moonlighting with the tourists. Bustino was actually a race horse. I'm not even joking. I thought our guide, Sami, was joking when he told me, but no....Bustino has even won races... Keeping Bustino out of full gallop took every muscle ...
Matheran, India hobnob... pretty nervous, no hotel to stay just knew to goto colaba the tourist part of Mumbai so I get a taxi and off we go to Colaba, I tell him to take me to King Bennys hotel which is reccomended in lonelyplanet guide, Sold Out. Then we try a few more all sold out, except one that had a deluxe room for 5800 ruppees, I think not so I had to find something cheaper. I found a nice clean simple little one called Hotel Regal Plaza for 600 rupees a night. It's great ...
