Day 19 - Death Valley

Yosemite - Death Valley was the plan for today, sleeping in our car before exploring the national park further before driving onto Vegas tomorrow. Then we discovered that the overnight temp in Death Valley floats around 24 degrees, and we decided hell no. Left Yosemite after a night without snoring and without squirrels, FINALLY. Had a fun day yesterday, first stopping to tour the Mission San Juan Bautista, and then heading to Santa Cruz for lunch, beach time, and then dinner, too, before we went grocery shopping on our way home. Whew! Packed a lot in, and no wonder we were so tired when we got home last night!

... time we caught the ferry back to Alameda. We had a brilliant day out and really enjoyed San Francisco. Back at the house we said goodbye to Ginny and Ingrid and we had a lovely evening with Carl, Larissa and Cassie. Larissa had made us some delicious chocolate chip toffee cookies, delicious. Once everyone had eaten and gone to bed Larissa and I sat up chatting while I did a load of washing. So nice to just spent time getting to know one ...

... trip of a lifetime. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't change a thing. And while I still wish it wasn't over, I'm very glad it happened. I know I will never forget any of it. For now though, I'm eagerly awaiting my next European adventure, as well as the Olympics returning to the U.S. I plan on volunteering. Until then, and even then, London 2012 will be my favorite Olympics.
