the catastrophe and worldcup madness

So munich is coming off the tailend of the unanimous most liked city of the trip thusfar so the expectations are high. Coming in we had a bit of a hostel dilemma as we were misbooked for the wrong nights but thats what you get sometimes when a trip is spontaneous but the great thing about staying in backpackers hostels and budget hotels is that youre around people just like you who have gone through the same problems and know how to figure it out and theyre more often than not really friendly...

Well i have been in Munich, the land of beer for every meal :-), for the last couple of days and will be leaving in a few hours. Munich is fantastic!!! This is one of my favorite European cities that i have seen so far. I landed about 7am local time. This was really cool cause the plane was landing just as the sun was coming up. It was really green looking and a fair bit of fog around so from the sky it looked like a fairy tale land. The city itself is amazing. Although it was all bombed in W...

Hello party people!! We left Gimmelwald this morning... and our stay there was really great. We slept in and walked around town all day it was great. but today we had our first run-in with the law. But it turned out to be fine because we got to spend our last franks in Bern, where they sell the most delicious pastries!! (...

Munich is... layed back. Not the busiest of cities, which is great, and everything is pretty easy to get to. I really just walked around the city while I was here, seeing what German shops are like, tasting some of the different foods here and listening to people busking in the street and general people watching, like in France. The city itself has it's surprises with a monolithic church around one corner and german breweries around the next. I ran into someone I met in the Greek islands, whi...

That morning we headed for the German capital of Berlin. Germany is the largest country in Europe and being hard workers, they have the world's third largest economy. The country is probably most famous for causing both of the World Wars and therefore celebrating national holidays here is considered bad taste. They are also famous for beer drinking; beer is cheap here and the glasses it comes in are huge. It's also where the Protestant movement broke away from the Roman Catholic Church under ...
