Wisconsin Dells-Days Inn

... final this weekend and hopefully a meat pie, all this footy is making us a little homesick. We&#8217;ve really enjoyed our quick glimpse of Wisconsin and are looking forward to heading south to where it is warmer, although we had some pretty great weather in Wisconsin, it only started raining the day we left!<br><br>Love and Peace to you all, the slightly homesick, Bek and Jesse Train.<br><br>

Today we went to the Wisconsin Dells on a Duck ride.<br>These old vehicles were used in World War 2 to land the troops in the Normandy and also in the Vietnam war.<br>As a tourist attraction someone had the idea to take these boats or whatever for tours on and around the Wisconsin River.<br>My mum, step dad, and me enjoied a nice ride through different territories and over the Wisconsin River. ... have started finding ways to maximize our use of space, and the concept that everything needs to have more than one purpose or it is a space waster. <br><br>Right now, I am sitting outside the camper, listening to my generator humming a recharge the battery and give life to the laptop tune. It is cool and cloudy, but I can glimpse the Tetons between the trees, overlooking Jackson Lake. Contemplating a late afternoon beer, and glad I am not a working stiff no more.... Jim

... of course, I was keen - I love holidaying, and the flexibility of this, was perfect. But moving on .... kids were well and truly entertained in the free kids club, and we got a great presentation, and at the end of it, we all got a fantastic time in the two indoor water parks that were open. We did lose Brad at one point, and there was a slight panic situation, but all is well, and the kids got the most amazing slides and I got a soak in the spa.

Well today will be a short blog, not because it was a short day, in fact we made the longest journey of our trip, but because so little happened on it, except driving long straight roads across miles and miles of farmland. ... TSA wants you to do..It may work here, but when i get to Japan or China they have very different rules. Sometimes I think they change the rules just because I am an American. We arrived... got drinks... set up the tents while drinking... pretty happy before 5pm... oh no... no wood for the bonfire... went to gas station.. bought marshmellows, more drinks, snacks, hot dogs... walked out and noticed big pile of firewood... oops... guess we should get some of that too...

... to the shear cliffs that were a haven to many rock climbers who we met along the way. Many were older than us. The rock formations and views here were incredible. We took a boat tour through the Upper Dells where the Wisconsin River winds through sandstone cliffs and rock formations. Over the years, the Wisconsin Dells has become quite the resort town, but we passed up the water parks and mini golf.

... had 6 waterpark areas...3 outdoors and 3 indoors. There was this crazy ride called the hurricane, an indoor wave pool, and many other interesting things I'm never seen before. There were originally only 3 of us, but we were later joined by another 3 who live nearby in Reedsburg. Got some tasty pizza from Moosejaw, and spent the night playing Wii and hanging out. It was a good birthday party. We got a short hour of swimming in this morning and then headed home.

... so in order to cross over the hills, even a relatively short climb takes a few miles. as we got closer and closer to the tunnel, the air started getting colder and more humid. the tunnels are big enough that they trap a lot of moisture and the temperature differential causes steam and moisture to emanate from the entrance. we came to the largest tunnel first. it clocks in at nearly 3/4 of a mile long, and since it has a slight bend, you can't even see the idiomatic light at the ...
