    ... took a walk through a forest which I was a bit nervous about. But Ollie reassured me that there are NO dangerous animals in forests, not like Australia. There are sometimes tiny spiders whose stings are like mosquito bites. It was just beautiful- the Autumn leaves were falling and it felt like we were in a fairytale!

    ... train station. By this time kids were pretty tired but still happy to look around at all the different scenery. After a long wait at the station we boarded our train and had a private carriage. It was like a Japanese bullet train, very fast and smooth. The train was very full so were were happy to have some privacy.     Perhaps I could have visited more of the town or another places in the region but I was getting a bit chilly from sweating during the hike earlier on, and just wanted to go 'home' to my cute little apartment, have the food I still had left over, and watch The Sopranos on my laptop. :-)

    Looked around the town, had expensive, not-so-good coffee on the touristy main square (staff was a bit snooty too). When I asked whether they had wifi for the guests, she looked at me like I had just escaped from a lunatic asylum. No wifi anywhere in this whole Harz region, not that I could find anyway.
