On Friday morning, we boarded a shuttle bus for the 2 1/2 hr trip from the hotel to the cruise terminal at Tianjin. Overnight flight with Korean Air was a slight culture shock: incredibly polite (mostly in Korean), smiling and bowing stewardesses; more garlic, chilli, pickled vegetables than you could shake a pickled daikon at; fiery Korean 'red pepper sauce' that was employed liberally at each course and bibimbap.
