Leaving Bangkok

A travel blog entry by beth.gurney.79

Today we had our first tuk tuk ride which was so much fun! We were given great advice by a local explaining to ensure you get a government regulated one (gold license plate, pink sticker) as they wont rip you off - there's still room for bartering but they will offer a fairer price. Saturday was our first real taste of Songkran. The buckets of water we'd endured on the previous days did not prepare us for the madness that is the Songkran festival. Nice, clean, bright rooms. Paid a bit more that we usually would for a hotel as part of package. Breakfast not very good.
