2270 North Germantown Parkway Memphis, Tennessee, United States, 38016, 901-386-1110
... the heart of old Memphis where we find block after block of buildings either undergoing renovation or empty and up for lease. It is a low-rise city with most buildings between 5 to 10 floors. Many of the old buildings, dating from the turn of the century to the 1940's, have been cleaned up and exhibit beautiful stonework and detailing of the time, some are commercial and others converted to lofts and condominiums. The city is maintaining its ties to the past through ...
Memphis TN, Tennessee, United States nanseaj... join him and get my groove on a bit (<-who says that these days??...whatever) So I danced with him a couple times taking breaks in between accordingly. The guy selling CD's came over and told Sumner and Ryan that they were the luckiest guys around. The singer of the group took to calling me Shaking Bacon for the dancing I was doing. But I'll tell you what, Felix my dancing man was 63 years old and still had it going on. He had the ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States ktowers86... trying to navigate our way from Houston to Washington DC. We've tried to mix with the locals as much as possible along the way, which has been interesting. More trouble than it's worth for the most part. For instance, I have been accused of stealing credit cards, pretty ironic when I think of how much money has been nicked from me on this trip and had drinks with someone who turned out to be nothing more than a complete racist ...
West Memphis, Arkansas, United States hollidayMemphis baby, Memphis! From Hot Springs to Elvis, we arrived in Memphis and headed straight to Graceland, the home of the King. Graceland is a large sprawling home on a large estate just outside of Memphis where Elivs lived, died and is now buried. For all those who are concerned about his descendants wealth do not be alarmed. They make a mint charging people into Graceland (if ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States bekandjesse... those otters were the best!
The last day, we went to the Metal Museum which is out in an old military fort right on the river. Lovely old buildings with original wood floors, shutters and shutter locks, high ceilings and tall windows—just wonderful. Then there are the artifacts—both inside and out. Really wonderful metal workings including a gazebo overlooking the river. I think I could live there! There are also two ...
... the concert that he didn't go to the bathroom, in case he missed something! A few days after Mark left me, I left my job. At the end of October, it was time to celebrate Halloween, and despite my original plan of going away, I decided to stay in Memphis and see what the locals get up to. Besides it was the opening night of the gallery and my photos. That was and still is something which I feel really excited about, every time I think about it. So I have started working at the ...
Memphis, Tennessee, United States s_sarkardei... Memphis only to stop and eat the best bar-b-que Memphis has seen in the last 21 years. We followed up lunch with a trip down to Graceland. Lucky for us.... it just happens to be ELVIS WEEK 2008. Oh yeah! Sooooo we got an inside peek at a few contestants vying for the title of best Elvis impersonator. Hillarious.... and kind of cool. I'm not gonna lie. Graceland was beautiful (although we only peeked in from the gates ...

Memphis, Tennessee, United States paulavetta... case! Sitting here in the lab right now, it is only me, and in the whole of the department, I don't think there is anybody else around! I have a lot of work to do during the week, from the technical side to running the experiment, as there is no technician in the lab. It is good practice, since this field is quite new to me, but it is also very time consuming. I guess it would look good on the CV (running the lab, solo!) We have had some crazy weather out here, about 10 inches of ...

It was a fitting ending to an enormously successful tour, which saw the Choir sing to rave reviews for nearly 50,000 people at nine concerts in seven different cities over a two-week period. With the strains of “God Be With You Till We Meet Again” ringing in their ears, Choir and Orchestra members returned to Salt Lake City happy to be done with touring for now but looking forward as ever to their next experiences on the road in 2009!
