... by the time I got back to the Erie Canal Village. At this point I became aware that the book that I brought to read if I had a chance had disappeared. It is too bad since I bought it in London & probably can't replace it easily. It was a lovely little Penguin travel book.

On my way back, after getting a rather pathetic deli dinner from Topps supermarket in Rome, i drove on Rt 5 through Palatine Bridge and took some photos of the old Palatine church and farm.

A nice day, sunny and with only a slight headwind. We have been lucky with the weather again because there is a large belt of thunderstorms to the west, and thus behind, us. So far we are riding far enough each day that they haven't caught us yet. My plans of taking advantage of the NYC layover may not prevail. The virgin atlantic checkin isn't open yet, and the bag storage that I researched is no where to be found (after several laps around the terminal). And finding info seems to also be an impossibility. Looks like I could be waiting this out at the airport, but if u r stuck at an airport, JFK ain't too shabby. I can always shop! Of course that means lugging the 50 lb suitcase :). ...
