I am officially on my way to New York City (currently over Michigan!) and the trip is going well so far. The seat next to me on the plane is open, which always a bonus, AND our travel agent gave me a little upgrade which never hurts J

After a couple of hectig months we sold our house,filled the POD (container) with all belongings we wanted to keep. Sold, donated and gave away the rest. The POD is in indefinite storage in Michigan giving us time to follow our dreams for a while. First on the agenda is a visit to my sister Yolanda and husband Laron in Washington DC.

Good evening Ohio!

Wow... I don't know where to start. I didn't write for a while: no internet in Cleveland and since Thursday I'm with friends: there nicer things to do now than work on the laptop.

On my first day here (Nov 12) John & Janet took me to the Motown Musum which is situated in the tiny little house where it all started. Amazing how so much great music can come out of such a small building.

The second day ...

I am still at home. Only one more week. Being away from my home for three weeks requires a lot of preparation. I even know the movie that are going to have on the Flight. I am tired already!! Since I will be on a plane for almost 24 hours, I am collecting all the necessary stuff needed to be comfortable.

... rules and regulations that we should all abide by. These were, apparently, to ensure that we all had fun.

So the couple did their thing, and we all did our thing, being very careful not to smile while doing it, and we all made our way to the reception. Now, this is where it got very strange. I've never been to a wedding in North America before, but I'm told that what followed is fairly normal. Not for me it wasn't.

Then came the Interesting part the Production Unit. This was an assembling plant of automobiles and we saw the F-150 truck being assembled to completion in a new lean and flexible manufacturing plant. There was no production on the day we went and so it was kind of difficult to understand the process ...

... they live in the suburbs of Detroit, and are parents of my Cousin Kevin, whose house we went to in Maryland a couple months ago); and my Mom. This mini-reunion took some real effort on Don's part, as he had Dialysis scheduled that morning, AND cataract surgery right after it - but he wasn't letting anything get in the way - and we're really happy he didn't ...

... quite a few laughs and exhume more than a few great memories before we say goodnight and drive back to Detroit. The next day is a social one, starting when Bruce Cohen picks me up for lunch, a few pleasant tokes on Belle Isle and our typical drive around the inner city of Detroit to see what landmarks of our younger days have been abandoned, destroyed or removed since our last investigation.
