We left our hotel in Atlanta and headed to the zoo. We have seen enough zoos but the kids were excited to visit this one because there was a baby rhino, gorilla, orangutan and pandas. It was drizzling when we got there and then started pouring. We were patient and got to see the baby gorilla and orangutan. We made it to Memphis as the sun was setting.
... that Martin Luther King Jr. would have taken his entire life, first as the son of the preacher, and then as the pastor at Ebenezer Baptist. After we left we all felt a bit drained but uplifted from the experience.
I should also mention that we visited the eternal flame and the grave site of Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King. This site is also along Auburn Avenue. This site is not to be missed if you are anywhere near Atlanta.
Getting used to the "freeways" now - spent all this week doing a 25 mike each way commute. The motorways have up to 8 lanes either side here, which seems ridiculous, especially as they're busy between 7-10 & 4-8 daily! Seems the infrastructure can't keep up with the population growth in ATL! ...
New week, different client. More internal audit (SOX) work. But this is an established client, who are listed with over $4bn turnover. Therefore the controls are already implemented & testing should be a little easier. Working with Mike, same level as ...
... had even more difficulty, because the reclining passengers in front of them were pretty much lying in their laps the whole way. We didn't have to pay extra for pillows, blankets or headsets like our last flight over, so that was nice. There was a good entertainment selection of movies, TV shows and music. The dinner selections were chicken or pasta. Breakfast was rolls, granola, juice, tea/coffee, etc. ...
