Bozeman, Montana, United States nicandjessicaWe spent a second day at Yellowstone Park, visiting the Mud Volcano and Sulphur Caldrons along the road from Fishing Bridge to Canyon Village. It was quite amazing to see large pools of mud boiling. There was a cave that seam and boiling water came out of with a loud noise called Dragon's Mouth Spring. There were some wonderful falls on the Yellowstone River in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. After having lunch in Canon Village we continued on to Norris and visited some of the geysers ...

Bozeman, Montana, United States scher-airWe were a day early getting to our reserved spot at the Yellowstone North entrance so this site was recommended to us. It was a nice relaxing park right by the Yellowstone River. The river is swift flowing and not very deep. It seems like most of the people here flyfish and the current moves them swiftly north and I am not quite sure how they get back it seems like a heck of alot of rowing.

Didn't do much today but relax.
Emigrant, Montana, United States psandefurThe immense open spaces of Montana are difficult to fathom for a girl accustomed the overdeveloped, densely populated East Coast and Florida flats. The expanse we traversed between Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park was impressive. Our southwestern departure from the park on Hwy. 2, then Hwy. 93, and finally I-90, took us through Kalispell (where we ...
Livingston, Montana, United States kellyjohnWe stopped into Bozeman for a couple days to visit Tom Starner and family - wife Kelly Ann, and kids Savanah, Joey, and Bailey. Darren roomed with Tom during his balla' days at UTSA and was coached at UTSA by Tom's dad Stu. We had a great time with a great family in a great area...great!
Bozeman, Montana, United States gringowithdrawlSaturday 26th July We had to leave the national forest today as our tanks needed emptying and we needed more water and food. I was getting increasingly concerned about the state of my tooth and we realised that we were going to have to find a dentist in the next few days. So we packed up and left mid morning. We drove through a place called Big Sky and on to ...
Bozeman, Montana, United States manningnz... drive on thus far - curvy roads, little traffic and beautiful scenery. (Though I-70 in Colorado and I-84 in Oregon are also favorites.) We haven't seen any forest fires yet, but the ones burning in Montana were evident all day with a light haze and smoky smell in the air. Road observation: We are terrible at crop recognition. Just abysmal. Our ability to call out crops with any confidence begins and ends with corn. (And there is a lot of that out there.) That's it. I'm sure ...
Bozeman, Montana, United States allobr... days, the heater ran, fueled by propane heat. The last time we filled up the propane tank was in Albuquerque, NM. The only thing the propane runs other than the heater is the gas stove (duh) and the refrigerator, and only the latter when Bokeh is not plugged in to an electrical source. Sooooooooo, we've gone a really long time on one tank of propane, and it didn't quit until sometime between I got up to pee at 3:40am this morning and 6am when we both woke up - me ...
Livingston, MT, United States dearmasa... up the trail with the navigational help of Rob and a bit of a tow every once and awhile. Other highlights include spending the night in the miners shack and proving to my brothers that just because I don't like guns doesn't mean I cant hit the target with a 45. (I won't mention that I was scared I completely missed, shot it up into the air and that the bullet would soon be coming back down right at me). Not a bad way to spend a few days in Montana.
