Once back at the Depot, we then drove to Columbia some 200 miles from Cherokee where we spent the night. Some pictures from our train trip.

Friendly little city...

... a lot now. Not sure how, but probably go run. I was being reminded everyday that God has a plan for me and that I am very grateful and blessed. Patience Mel, Patience--this is a plan..just a road I took to find the end of nothing for now..the end to greatness and happiness..the end to a new beginning fulfilled with hope, and lots of love..and to the one that deserves everything! The glory and the peace!

Till the next trip...

Some Final Comments...

... probably not purposely)
Least favorite hostel: Brugge (too many people in one room)

Least favorite thing of all: stairs

Comments: I would not cram so much stuff in such a short amount of time, but that is a Switzer trait. If you travel Europe, remember that the service charge on the bill is the tip. We probably way overtipped.

All the cities except for Prague had dual flushers!

All in all it was a great trip. A family of five ...

Cacky Town

... up at this very awesome bar with fish nets and stuffed fish on the walls called The Salty Nut.  Thpogh the name didn't match the decor, it seemed like a fun place.

After a beer or two Ty and I realized that every guy in the bar had tan cacky shorts.  Tyler had frayed cargo shorts and I was wearing jean shorts.  We aparently didn't recieve the memo.

We didn't stay out too long.

A Waterfall, Meters, and Cookies

... and friendly? Well I really don't think that the metered parking scam is very nice at all!!! In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How Rude!"

Either way, we laughed it off and had some yummy calamari and spring roll appetizers at the Liberty Tap Room & Grill. When we got back to the hotel, the front desk had soft, gooey chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies which ended the night on a sweeter note.

A long drive to South Carolina

Up at the crack of dawn today, and drove through to South Carolina. We stayed with friends from NH that recently moved down south. It was great for Gabi & Heather to see each other: All the girls had fun, and sounds like they are still awake chatting now (12:30 am). They'll be cranky when I get them up at 6:30 to head out!

Pre-departure nervousness ahhh!!

So I am completely terrified of this trip.  I have no idea what to expect.  I wan to do this because it is going to be a challenge for me.  I am an anxious person and to travel across the world and leave my friends and family behind is a big deal for me.  I want to succeed.  I do not want to fail.  I have yet to really throughly research this trip.  The strategy that I am using is the less I know about New Zealand, the less I have to worry about.

Back to nature - without the wild animals!

... Campers are allowed to stay something like 49 consecutive days in any 60. We think that things will be much busier at the w/e, the lake is a very popular fishing destination. Come tomorrow the vast parking lot will be full; the water will be packed with craft, fast motor boats and quiet fishermen. We think we have seen it as its best. It's a lovely peaceful spot, we like to find places like this.

... the largest Episcopal congregations in the country. The University of South Carolina and nine other colleges are here. The Saluda River flows through Columbia, and Congaree Swamp National Monument is nearby. If you go east you'll get to the Atlantic Ocean and if you go northwest you'll be in the mountains!
